Where the photograph is only the beginning
In these works the camera gathers the raw material and the hands take over. A print is painted over, a picture is transferred with black powder or polymer, gold leaf is laid down, and layers are built until the photograph becomes something else.

Painted over the print
The picture is printed, then worked over in paint until the brushwork carries the image. Ethereal Majesty was painted over, then photographed again.
